The continuous oscillatory baffled reactor (OBR) is a particular type of tubular reactor, which has drawn increasing attention over the past few decades due to benefits it provides in terms intensification heat and mass transfer, as well equipment compactness compared with stirred tank reactors. This process enhancement principally interaction flow internal baffles consequent generation transverse flows eddies. Continuous OBRs are already applied several industrial sectors, however these reactors present certain limitations operating conditions range possible applications. review presents discusses current knowledge on OBR design guidelines, performance characterization It aims guide selection most appropriate design, criteria, according application final objective.
